I would like to personally thank our staff for their dedication to all of the students in Quillayute Valley School District. I would also like to thank all of the parents and community members who support our students in their growth and reaching their personal goals for the school year.
I am constantly reminded of the talented teachers, staff members, administrators, and students that we have in our district, as I walk through the schools and buildings. It is amazing to watch our students in their performances both in the classroom and in their extra-curricular activities. You should be proud of the students in the Forks community. We are making steady progress as we aim to improve the quality of our instruction and programs in the district to develop each student to his or her full potential.
We most recently experienced some extreme weather conditions. In speaking with parents and community members, I am aware that we can improve our communication system (when power and electricity permits) to inform parents of school closures. In the event of a school closure, here are several of our systems for communication:
- Our Connect Ed (automated phone system) will send out an emergency message. Pending the system’s ability to reach a land line system, it will contact all phones that have in the system. Regardless, it will reach cell-to-cell.
- Forks Radio (KVAC/KLLM) will announce closures, pending their capability to broadcast.
- If you have phone services (land lines), call 374-6262, #4 for updated information.
- Check King 5, Komo 4, or Kyro 7 for closures.
Sincerely,
Diana Reaume, Superintendent
