What you can expect from me:

I will be here. If I'm not here, there's a good reason for it, and you can bet there are a number of people who know where I am and where I can be reached if needed
I will try my best. There may be days that I don't do as well as others, but you can  expect that I will have something meaningful to do, that you'll have an opportunity to learn new things and participate in new activities.
I will listen to you. If you respectfully seek my attention, I will respectfully listen. If you have ideas and thoughts that you wish to share, I'll be glad to hear you out, act on your input, and diligently pursue answers to your questions.
I will treat you as you wish to be treated.
I will help if you ask for assistance. That's what I get paid for, and sometimes I'll try to help you even if you don't ask for it.
I will not waste time, either yours or mine. There's precious little of it to begin with, and we all have to conserve this commodity.
I will not teach meaningless stuff. I enjoy this stuff! I even carry on independent study of it in my spare time. What's better, this stuff is always changing, always being updated, and goes on around us every day. Life and education are the adventure!

What I expect from you:

Be here, be on time. Every day, ready to go. That means you're seated when class begins, and you'll stay on task until you are dismissed. If there's five minutes left until the class is over, that means you have five more minutes to remain on task. Don't waste time.
Complete your assignments, on time. See the item above. Minimum performance standards will be established for most assignments. If you wish to receive grades higher or lower, then produce accordingly. Don't waste time.
Treat every one here and all property with respect. Don't mess with things that aren't yours, including other people's feelings. Commit random acts of kindness. Be constructive.
Follow the rules. Lots of stuff isn't fair, but rules are rules. If you want to change them, go to the proper authorities through the proper channels. See your handbook. Don't take it out on me or your classmates. It's your responsibility to know the rules, but I can help you figure them out.
Listen when it's appropriate. Teachers don't talk to hear themselves (usually... there are exceptions). If I'm speaking, it's generally for the benefit of students. Respect that.
Try. Read. Think. Communicate. Every day of school you'll have at least five pages to read. Those five pages may come from a textbook. You are expected to read. Above and beyond that, there are millions of pages of interesting and relevant print. You'll be expected to read the few pages of those I give you . Think about what you read and hear. What does it mean? Tell us about it with your spoken and written words, as well as other ways you can demonstrate what you've learned. Participate in class discussions.

Now it's your turn.

What do you expect from me?

What can I expect from you?

Life is teamwork.
Competence Empowers.
