FMS Technology Rules and Procedures

• Students must be prepared to learn and participate
• Students must be cooperative.
• Students must show respect for tools, equipment and others.
• All students are expected to try their best.

Grading is based on the following:

• Quality = Points will differ with each assignment
• Quantity = Consideration will be given for the amount completed.
• Effort = Consideration will be given for an honest effort.
• Participation = Project points will be lost for unexcused absences, tardiness, not cleaning up, nonparticipation or misbehavior.

The following percentages will be used to assign letter grades:

94% to 100% = A

90% to 93.9% = A-

87% to 89.9% = B+

84% to 86.9% = B

80% to 83.9% = B-

77% to 79.9% = C+

74% to 76.9% = C

70% to 73.9% = C-

Below 70% = N

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

• Be on time.
• Come prepared to work. (pencil, paper, project, notebook)
• Be seated & ready to listen at the start of class.
• Participate in daily activities.
• Cleanup after yourself
• Remain in work area until dismissed.
• Speak and act respectfully to others.
• No food or drink in class
• Never horseplay, run, toss or throw anything, in class.

CONSEQUENCES

• Reminder, reprimand, redirection.
• Delay, detention, loss of privilege.
• Phone call home to parent(s).
• Some logical consequence as the result of your behavior.
• Referral to DMZ, Principal, or Counselor.

General Shop Safety Rules

______ 1. NO running or horseplay.

______ 2. Wear eye protection while operating any machine.

______ 3. Take off coats and tuck in loose clothing while operating machinery.

______ 4. Tie back long hair while operating machinery.

______ 5. Do not leave a machine until it stops running.

______ 6. Only 1 person at a time is allowed to operate a machine.

______ 7. Do not talk to anyone while you or they are operating the machinery.

______ 8. Do not operate a machine until you have received permission from the instructor.

______ 9. Everyone must be watching out for the rules at all times.
