1) Arc Welding Unit- Use orange welding book
a) Part 1- Introduction to arc welding read chapter 2-5 orange welding book and answer questions 1-14 at the end of chapter 4 and answer questions 1-8 in chapter 5.
b) Start welding, do exercises 1& 2 from chapter 5 page 66 and have them graded. Read chapters 6 & 7 and answer questions 1-14 and do exercises 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 complete this section to earn a maximum of a B.
c) Part 2- Advanced arc welding, read chapters 8-9 orange welding book. Do the 4 exercises at the back of chapter 8 and 9. You must complete this section for an A.
d) Materials needed: Introduction arc- 1 piece of metal 48” long. You will then cut it into 12 4” pieces of 3/16” x 1 ½” flat bar stock. Advanced arc- 1 piece of metal 54” long. You will then cut it into 14 4” pieces of 3/16” x 1 ½” flat bar stock.
