I/LAP
Title
I/LAP Program The Title I/LAP Program is designed
to give extra support in one or more subjects to
students who may need additional time and instruction
to attain the necessary skill levels in reading and/or
math to be successful in school and to meet standard
on the Washington State Learning Assessment (WASL).
How
is it funded?
The
Quillayute Valley School District Title I/LAP Program
is funded by the Title I grant from the Federal Department
of Education and the Washington State Learning Assistance
Program (LAP) grant. The Title I grant is based on
the Free and Reduced lunch count for the district.
Schools that meet a certain percentage of Free and
Reduced lunch qualify for Title I funds. Schools
that do not qualify for Title I funds are funded
from the state's LAP grant. In addition to the state
and federal grants, basic education dollars are used
for supplies and staffing.
