Priorities for 2007-08
Increase student achievement as measured by student performance on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) tests.
Achieve Adequate Yearly Progress for each school and the district.
Establish K-12 curriculum planning committees for literacy and math to review district-wide curriculum and to create curriculum roadmaps (scope and sequence of content taught) in Grades K-12 in alignment with Washington’s Essential Academic Learning Requirements (EALRs) and Grade Level Expectations (GLEs).
Develop a plan for the purchasing of curriculum/program materials for a K-12 model.
Make student-centered decisions by valuing the diversity of our students and families.
Increase stakeholder involvement and satisfaction with the school district.
Increase the General Fund reserve balance to 4% by budgeting conservatively, controlling spending and seeking additional sources of revenue.
Consider bringing a bond proposal to voters in 2008 to replace the old sections of Forks High School.
Review Board Policies and Procedures, revising as necessary.
Transition the 4-period day at Forks High School into a 6-period day and examine high school graduation requirements.
Study the feasibility of building a K-12 music program.
