Pronouns

Pronouns are used in place of a noun.  Pronouns can do nearly anything a noun can do.

Subject Pronouns:  I, you, he, she, it, we, they

Object Pronouns:  me, you, him, her, it, us, them

Possessive Pronouns:  my, mine, your, yours, his, her, hers, its, our, ours, their, theirs

WHO Vs. WHOM

WHO is used as a subject pronoun or a predicate nominative.

Who is that talking over there?

I recognize the girl who is talking over there!

WHOM is used as a direct object, indirect object, or object of the preposition.

Whom did you ask to the dance?

    You asked whom?

You gave the tickets to whom?
